The voice of Alexey Markov - the strong, velvet baritone – can be heard today on the best opera halls of the world. With equal admiration it is clapped by public of "Underground-opera", «the Frankfurt opera», «the Bavarian state opera», "Carnegie-hall", "Zemper-opera", «Zurich operas» and «Real Madrid» Theatre. It also began to be fashionable and very trendy to go «on Markov» in his home Maryinsky Theater if only you are lucky to find on Markov in Russia.

Musical critics unanimously mark not only Markov’s outstanding vocal abilities, but also his multilateral drama talent, peculiar not far to all opera singers.

Meanwhile, Alexey hasn’t come to the world of opera art at once. He was born in 1977 in Vyborg, and nobody in his family was connected with the professional singing. Alexey has graduated from the Vyborg Aviation Technical School and, probably, in due course the Russian aircraft would receive the high quality expert – however Alexey, since the childhood reaching for music, has another purpose for himself.

He attended a guitar class and was a trumpeter in the orchestra. Alex was a young man of 22 years old when his strong desire to sing led him to the Vyborg choir. He realized that his voice should be developed - and at 24 years old went to St. Petersburg.

Alexey Markov’s first teacher, Alexander Dedik led the beginner baritone to the Academy of Young Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre. Alexey became student of George Zastavnij, a known baritone of the Kirov Theater. Alexey's debut on the stage has occurred, when the opera singer  was 29 years old – he has performed Evgenie Onegin in   Maryinsky Theater. The career has begun.

Alexey's persistent work didn't remain unnoticed. Since 2003, Marks annually brings the first awards from large Russian and international competitions of opera singers. In 2008 he became a permanent soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre, and performances with his participation were an integral part of the repertoire. Since the debut of Alexis in "Metropolitan Opera" American critics saw him as a promising and charismatic baritone. Markov has proved that a baritone can also be deservedly loved by the audience.

In everyday life Alexey is  simple, pleasant and easy to  communicate person. Most of all in his life he loves and appreciates his family.
